DS4 Main Headlight not working

Hi All, and thank you in advance.

My DS4 2011, has failed MOT on LH headlight not working on main beam.

I have changed bulb, no joy. I have switched the bulbs (left and right) and the fault stays, so I know its not the bulb.

When i turn steering wheel all the way left, I sometimes get flickering.

How do I fix this? Is there anything I should check first? I get no faults on the diagnostic tool I have (Topdom - carpal).

So the dipped beam is working okay?
Does your car have the headlight type that moves left and right with the steering? If so then I suspect, from the flickering on steering fully left that the problem may be with the lamp unit itself, can you switch off the headlamp swivel feature in the settings menu? If so see if it makes a difference, but first I would check the multi plug/s connector for that headlamp unit, sometimes just disconnect/reconnect will sort it, just be a bit careful so as not to damage any of the connectors inside the plugs and lamp unit.

Thank you, Yes the car has directional lights (I think they are called).

I will look to see if I can turn off these, not sure how, but there must be a way!

I have already removed and played a little with the plug, no joy, but i think I will take a longer look at this, see if I can see any obvious issues.

Ok, quick update (any other advice would be welcome).

I have determined that the issue is in the headlight unit. (Plugged the passenger- faulty side, into drivers side and the fault moved with it)

I have also noted, the main beam (flashing) works on both sides when the lights are off, but the passenger side main beam does not work when the headlights are turned on. (Hopefully this makes sense).

My biggest question is, does anybody know if i put a new headlight ballast control unit on, will it fix it?

As you have tried swapping the sides, you could try swapping just the ballasts and you may answer your own question!
