Relay head unit fault

Hi,
We have 2018 Citroen relay campervan. The media button on the original head unit has stopped working, so I bought a replacement from eBay and fitted it.

With the new unit in place the odometer flashes, everything else works as it should, and the miles are still recorded on the odometer. I believe it's to do with the cambus.

I've tried refitting the old unit, now the odometer stops flashing, but this isn't any good because the media button doesn't work.

Two questions... Can the old head unit's button be repaired? Or can the cambus be made to work on the new unit?

I think these use a Fiat based architecture, and you have to do a 'Proxy Alignment' when anything is replaced to get it all to play together.
