Hello,
So I've seen the recall campaign. My 2021 1.5BlueHDi SpaceTourer got its camshaft broken in the way described here: https://www.media.stellantis.com/uk-en/ ... -consumers
I was wondering if I can do something about it and how ?

In the linked document it includes this
'To be eligible to the special coverage, maintenance should have been performed by any automotive professional according to the manufacturer’s recommendation. In case of issue, diagnosis and repair must be performed with the authorized network.'
If you have been getting your car serviced by a Citroen dealer or similar, then you need to go to the dealer for it to be repaired.

Ok, yes all service had been done at Citroen in time. My car broke down just as it exited my garage so it was very surprising. It's now to the mechanic next door at 500m from me. The Citroen dealership is 1.5km away

I would talk to Citroen and see what they want to do. If you let your local garage start any work it might make it difficult to get Citroen to pay for anything.

Ok so here's the thing.
They said they engine is not damaged and they're going to repair under warranty.
I don't know which kit they're going to use.
They said some other components should be changed to avoid compatibility problems and those would not be covered. Like water pump another chain and one more item. They are not damage just incompatible. Did it also happen to anyone?

Possibly they are saying the cam shaft chain replacement/upgrade does not include a timing belt/tensioner/water pump. No idea if this is correct but it is a good idea to get them done whilst the car is in bits as it saves doing it later in a few years.

Well the dealer told me Stellantis recommend it because the parts wouldn't be compatible with the new kit. So, I'm not sure if they just try to scam me or if I could even claim that this change is due to their fabrication fault and wouldn't be necessary otherwise ?

It sounds as though they are trying it on.
If the part is under warranty then so should the adjacent parts that need to be changed due to incompatibility with the new part.
Do you have a motoring ombudsman or similar there that can take a look at it.
Or even contact Stellantis for clarification, although that seems to be quite tortuous lately.

I asked Stellantis but they said only the garage will be able to determine what parts are affected, but it's the garage that said Stellantis told them to change those other parts too. I think I will ask for a copy of that message.

While I was waiting for that message, the dealer told while opening and repairing the engine they found a faulty/broken piece. The EGR device. I really doubt this was before the incident. How likely is this related ?
