For the benefit of anyone else who is interested, Jim is taking a break from this forum, and some of his other activities while he works on recovery from long-term health issues which he has previously shared here.
I am sure that normal service will be resumed shortly.

Thanks for the response and the messages folks. Hopefully we'll see him back here once he's back to himself again.

A huge thanks all for your good wishes :-D This is the first time I've looked at the forum in some weeks...

It's been a bit of an 'interesting' few weeks and happily, things are now very slowly on the up. I still have to take care in all respects so this is a very gentle and tentative return to being active on here and indeed, what passes for normal in my life... Lately, it's been anything but

Bluebell is very much back on the road, not that she's been very far as yet... She's good fun to drive :-D

Here she is yesterday, posing for a test photo - taken to confirm a camera I've recently rebuilt is now working quite well.

Strawberry just does what she does without any fuss and my van needs an aircon re-gas. Not that she'll get one as she's barely used these days.

Family are all very fine and little one is growing like Topsy...

Here she is, celebrating her six-month birthday last month :D

I'm now off to vote and hopefully, change the world ;)

Gosh, my past is catching up with me  My E-DBS is in the process of being renewed so let's hope this doesn't affect that [-o<

Not sure that's wise Husky...

Some of us of a certain fairly advanced age remember the last Jim to hold a position of power. No, not that one, I was thinking of the Rt. Hon. Jim Hacker*

Thanks Paul, that's really appreciated :-D

I shall now start to get up to date with what's been happening on here these last few weeks...

* Paul Eddington. He played Jim Hacker in Yes Minister and Yes Prime Minister - possibly the best comedy series ever, more a documentary really, after Porridge, Open all Hours and early episodes of Dad's Army. Paul also played Jerry Leadbetter in the Good Life - another cracker of a comedy series. - especially with Felicity Kendal in it :-D

I always cite Yes Minister / Yes, Prime Minister as one of the finest documentary series ever made.
Apparently Maggie was always curious as to who it was that supplied the writers with their information

I fully agree Bobins. I can speak from my own experience and knowledge that it was/is/remains very accurate...

Allegedly, her favourite TV show too. We may never know who helped script from within as despite Westminster generally leaking like a C3 Pluriel roof, it's very good at keeping quiet when necessary

A good deal came up - the week after Half-Term - and I couldn't resist booking a holiday...

So I'll soon be off for a week to the place I feel most at home in the whole wide world... I really need the break to be honest...

Look very closely and you can see Hinkley Point 'C' under construction just beyond the edge of the cliff :)

Before that, I'll be getting started on a bit of routine work on Strawberry - she's my main daily (more correctly a couple of times a week) driver so needs a little more TLC than her 'Garage Queen' sibling and indeed, more than my van.

Strawberry's due a cambelt, water pump and coolant change along with a re-application of her extensive rust protection and very possibly, a new set of tyres...

Then my van will be due a cambelt and water pump later this year...
