Hi everyone, I have a Peugeot Expert 2.0 BlueHDi (2018) that cranks but won't start. I've scanned the car with an Autel tool and found a persistent immobiliser issue.
VIN: VF3**************[VIN obfuscated, can be read by forum staff]
Main Fault: B1808(87) - Immobiliser unlocking fault by the engine control ECU (Status: Present).
Immobiliser Status:
Engine ECU locked: YES
Number of keys memorized: 2
Key reader/COM response: YES
BSI in Anti-Scanning: NO
Request for activation from BSI: NO
As you can see from the live data, the BSI recognizes the keys, but the Engine ECU remains locked and there is no request for activation from the BSI.
I have checked the battery voltage and it's around 12V (ign. off) and 14V (ign. on). Could this be a synchronization issue between the BSI and ECU, or perhaps a wiring/fuse problem preventing the BSI from 'talking' to the ECU?
Thanks

It could be very many things but I'd suggest you carry out a BSI reset according to the procedure in the link below and then rescan.

I used to be indecisive, now I'm not so sure!
I used to ride on two wheels, but now I need all four!

Did something happen to stop it starting?
I think these are actually on a Fiat based architecture, the inst panel is involved, and a 'proxy alignment' is required when parts are changed.

Hi everyone,
I did a BSI reset, but I'm still getting the fault code B1808 87.
I requested the official PIN from Peugeot, cleared all the keys, and coded them again, but the problem persists.
Using my Autel scanner, I checked the PIN compatibility:
BSI: The PIN is valid/compatible.
ECU: The PIN shows as not compatible.
It seems like someone might have replaced the engine ECU in the past without properly adapting it.
I tried going through the "component replacement / ECU replacement" procedure, but it gets denied because the current ECU is obviously not virgin.
Ideally, I need to clear the EEPROM data (make it virgin) and pair the ECU to the BSI. The ECU is a Delphi DCM6.2. Even though the van is from 2018, the software version on it is from 2020.
Any ideas or workarounds on how to solve this?
Thanks in advance!
