Daughter #3 ran from The Angel Of The North (Gateshead)

Sophie was a young goth,

often in Whitby with her boyfriend, Robert Maltby. They were beaten up by a gang of yobs, in a park in Bacup, Lancashire, where they lived. Sophie died and Robert was badly injured.

Interview with a media crew

At the famous whalebones, abbey in the background and with her son, my grandson, who was my chauffeur for the day as my car had wandered off to Cambridge. Fairly new driver and very good too.

A proper Bentley parked outside the Spa Pavilion that was her destination.
AA011392.JPG
Following that, a walk through the town, with chips from Fusco's (not the overrated Magpie) up the 199 steps to the abbey where her 'attendant' was parked. There are only supposed to be 199 steps but I'm convinced they have added at least another hundred since I was there last June.

Steve mentioned some lyrics from Donovan from the song "Sand and Foam"

"And the simple act of an oar's stroke put diamonds in the sea
And all because of the phosphorus there in quantity"

Whether that is chemically accurate in any shape or form is of little matter, but the image of the "diamonds in the sea", manifested itself at Beadnell Bay yesterday, captured in this Picture of the Day submission from yours truly...

Well there's certainly phosphates in the water as they're what can lead to algal blooms 8-[ ......and also lead to expensive court cases for water companies, polluters, and possibly others :?

Is that your power steering one? Last time I saw it it was a rocket even with heavy weight in the boot, what's it like without the added weight?

Ryan it’s a nice ‘warm-hatch’ without that flooring in the back, I don’t really think it needs the power steering set-up but it drives nice around town.

Yesterday, Tuesday, there was a short burst of sunshine which meant I could take my morning coffee outside. Three things happened to cheer me up. First a screechy group of birds came over the house, too fast to photograph, the swallows are back for summer. Next the sound of more than one merlin, looked up to see 4 aircraft doubtless preparing for Duxford flying day on Saturday. Again too low and fast to get a camera out. I think it was a Hurricane, MK1 and Mk9 Spitfires and the Buchon. Then I looked at the chair next to me to see that a load of spiders had hatched. Did get some pictures of those.
