Hi all. I have a Citroen C5 Tourer Mk3 (58 plate) and the bonnet catch is failing to lock fully. The catch part, where all the cabling is, is working ok. The issue is with the actual striker (if thats its name) that is located on the physical bonnet. It's become loose, either the rivets have become loose or something else has happened so it moves about. This means that when you try to secure the bonnet it goes onto the first catch but never secures onto the final one that holds it fast because the striker isn't solid on the bonnet is moves about.
I have cable tied it fairly firm and by more luck than judgement have gotten it to lock however at some point it 'll probably fail. Is there a way to get this thing secured solid back onto the actual bonnet or is it a replace the entire bonnet job as I can't see a way to get inside the bonnet shell to glue, rivet it back together.
All help is appreciated.

Re: Loose bonnet catch - on the actual bonnet C5 Tourer
I would check with a Citroen dealer in case there was a recall the car has missed. We have had recalls on C4s and the Cactus to strengthen the bonnet striker. On the C4s it was a grease filled sticker (to stop corrosion ?) and the Cactus an extra riveted plate. If not sorted the bonnet could come undone and open fully when driving along.
