eSIM comparison for Cape Verde, has anyone tried it before leaving?

Unread post by Ronn »

Hi! I’m currently planning a road trip to the Cape Verde islands for next month, and since I don't want to find myself without data in the middle of nowhere, I’ve started looking for solutions. I came across several eSIM offers, and honestly, it’s a bit of a mess to compare them all.
I’ve done a preliminary eSIM Cape Verde comparison on my own through a few specialized sites like Airalo, Holafly, and Nomad... and the prices vary from single to double for pretty much the same amount of data. For instance, 1GB for 10 days can range from 8 euros to almost 20 depending on the platform. It’s a bit much. The main thing holding me back is that I’m not sure what to expect regarding network coverage. It’s not the same across all the islands; between Sal, which is more touristy, and Fogo or Santo Antão where it's more rural... I imagine the signal varies quite a bit. Plus, the comparisons I find online are often based on reviews from 2021-2022, so I’m not sure if they’re still relevant. I’ve noticed that some people here also travel for rallies or international road trips, so maybe some of you have had to deal with these kinds of connectivity questions while traveling. Has anyone done a real eSIM Cape Verde comparison recently? Which provider did you end up choosing, and did the coverage actually hold up across multiple islands?

You may find this site useful in determining the different network coverages available: https://www.nperf.com/en/map/CV/-/20362 ... 375&zoom=4 :)
I used to be indecisive, now I'm not so sure!
