As it says on the sketch, HIGHEST setting which is likely to be 10A unless you have a more expensive meter but the most Amps you have..

Note that most multimeters have a separate socked for the 10A input.

Ok ive just took off the alternator live lead and the dim lights are still on, nothing else goes to alternator so i assume thats not the issue

Looking at your dim lights on the dashboard, looks like a drivers seat issue registering no seat belt which should only happen when sitting on the seat. Have you looked for an electrical connection below the seat to unplug and see if it continues?

Ive not i will have a look, says airbags gone on to but hasnt

Ok i unplugged the seat sensor wire, dim lights still on
