RT6 Camera Replacement - Scrambled/Flickering image on Screen (Works on CRT)

Unread post by Ixodides »

Hi everyone,

I recently bought a Citroen DS5 and the reverse camera was not working.

After dismantling it, I found that the housing was compromised and the inside was filled with mud and dirt.
I purchased a used replacement camera (sold as working), but unfortunately, I’m experiencing heavy interference as seen in the attached photos.

It looks like a synchronization issue or "scrambled" signal.

Testing so far:
I connected this used camera to a small portable CRT dashboard monitor, and surprisingly, the image there is perfectly clear with no interference.

I wanted to check if the engine or lights are causing the noise, but I’m not sure if it's possible to trigger the reverse camera on the RT6 display without actually starting the engine in this model. Has anyone encountered this specific type of image distortion? Since it works on a CRT but fails on the RT6, where should I look for the cause? Could it be a signal format mismatch (PAL/NTSC), a grounding problem, or perhaps the wiring is sensitive to resistance that the CRT monitor simply ignores? Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated.

Can you post a picture of the display on the CRT for comparison? :)
I used to be indecisive, now I'm not so sure!
I used to ride on two wheels, but now I need all four!
