Kenwood head unit 308 2009

I have a Peugeot 308 sw from 2009. Bought a Kenwood + can adapter. Everything seems to work except learning in the steering wheel controls. I can change songs. Raise/lower the volume. Reject calls. But I can't answer calls or make calls/scroll from the steering wheel controls. Kenwood has "learning" in the settings. Then it says please hold a button. But nothing happens when I hold the button down regardless of which button. Have I got the wrong adapter?
I can also access the oem vehicle settings which i like.

Does anyone have any ideas? Is there a better can adapter?

Swedish Mick. If you add DeepL to your browser it will offer to translate almost any language.
Unfortunately I know nothing about in car entertainment equipment, just use mine the way it is, only play music from a USB dongle. so knowing Swedish is no help at all.
