Citroen DS3 folding mirrors

Installed a replacement off side passenger wing mirror. When locking the car the mirror folded in and didn't stop continuing to rotate towards the car. After unlocking the car the mirror opened to the normal closed position and won't fold out any further. When locking the mirror will fold further in. The other mirror operates normally and there is no visual damage to the wires or connectors inside the door. The mirror operated normally before the replacement.

Have you tried when it has opened (but is actually the normal closed one) you then move it open further by hand to what should be the full open position. Then close and open the mirror electrically by door locking or using the switch.
