Hello,
I need advice on my 2013 C3 1.0 VTi. The car has been consuming a lot of oil lately (over 1L per 1000km).
Today, while pushing the engine at high revs, the engine light started flashing and the car cut all power. I had to let it coast until the light stopped flashing.
Since the car burns so much oil, I'm wondering if this is a classic case of oil-fouled spark plugs causing a misfire, or if the high pressure from the oil consumption is triggering a safety cut-off.
Has anyone with the 1.0 or 1.2 VTi engine experienced this specific "flashing light" under load?
Thank you

You say consuming oil. Is it dripping to the ground from a leak somewhere? Or is it being burned? Do you leave a trail of smoke behind, especially at high revs?
As I get older I think a lot about the hereafter - I go into a room and then wonder what I'm here after.

If the engine management light has been on then a fault code will have been stored which can be read by a code reader. I would check this before doing anything else and do not first start replacing parts hoping to get it right before spending too much money.
