Re: Peugeot Boxer 2.2hdi euro5 2015 - no crank/no start
Ok bit of a disappointing update....
so I've tested crank shaft and cam shaft sensor connectors and tested back to the ECU connector and all checks seem perfect.
Replaced old sensors for new and reinstalled.
I can confirm the crank sensor sits in the metal bracket and is height adjustable.
I installed the new crank sensor over one tooth only using an endoscope to check.
The new crank sensor had a rubber/plastic pip and I set this down as this is designed to wear off and leave the perfect gap.
All reinstalled faults cleared.
Upon starting I'm just getting a crank and no start and instantly p0016-62 comes back.
I have adjusted.the position of the crank sensor upwards and this resulted in P0016-62 changing to P0335-64 engine speed sensor.
Push the crank sensor back into position and I'm back to P0016-62.
Leaving the crabksensor in and then removing the cam sensor connector and it sounds like it wants to fire but doesn't actually start just splutters.
I have checked online which often says unseen to reset adaptations but I cannot find this in diagbox under ECU repair or any other sub menu? Unless it comes under something else?
I've tried a sniff of easy start and still nothing....
Checking diag box for parameters and I can see them below info:
Reference fuel pressure - 300
Measured fuel pressure is reaching up to 448 and then dropping as I crank the engine.
Engine speed on cranking is reaching around 150.
Overall flow injected is flat at 0
Crank/cam sync says NO.
Am I looking at a mechanic fault with timing chain?
During cranking over a number of occasions and when I lifted the crank sensor out of its bracket and rotated it slightly i did get error;
P0335-64 engine speed sensor.
&
P0524-21 oil pressure.
The van has been sat a while could the oil condition cause P0016-62?
I'm about to check the timing next so if anyone has any input before I do it would be greatly appreciated.

Re: Peugeot Boxer 2.2hdi euro5 2015 - no crank/no start
Ok so I'm still no further.
P0016-62 changes to P0335-64 if I lift the crank sensor out of its metal bracket and returns if I lower to the correct position.
Seen here Removing the cam sensor and the cranking changes almost like it wants to start but doesnt even with a spray of easy start into the air filter housing (filter removed)
I have replaced the cam sensor for new and cleaned up the mounting surface.
And also replaced the crank sensor.
My multimeter leads broke so I'm awaiting a new set so unsure if my previous tests were accurate I'll reperform these...
Should I be testing the cranksensor and cam sensor when connected to there sensors or just the loose plugs?
I have noticed a small nick on the crankshaft connector so unsure if this small nick would change anything?
I have cleaned up with contact cleaner and taped him up for the moment but still not sure?
Damage seen here The connector pin contacts look slightly rusted aswell.
Seen here I have ordered a new connector but cannot find an identical match so I'm hoping this one below will work A few questions if anybody could answer?
1) can oil that's sat for awhile cause p0016-62? (As lifting the crank sensor also brings up error P0524-21 oil pressure? This only shows when no crank sensor reading)
2) is there an oil solinoid and if so any ideas of location?
Checking measurements via diagbox again today and I'm still getting the below:
Expected fuel pressure 300bar
Measured fuel pressure - as soon as I crank it hits 420-440bar but the line drops from there down to 0.
Engine rpm - 150 (is this low? How much rpm should be needed to turn over? My research is suggest 200 and 150 wouldn't be enough?
It has a reconditioned starter motor so I'm wondering if the starter solenoid should be replaced?
When cranking off the battery it sounds ok but I tested connected to a 1.6 focus and it seemed to crank a lot harder and faster.
Battery voltage is steady at 12.69v
I have cleaned up and replaced negative to cabin ground strap / gearbox to behind air filter strap / added a strap from starter casing to chassis / added a strap from engine block to chassis.
I have ordered timing tool kit so will eventually check this I just want to rule out everything else first as I haven't heared no rattle or anything and the timing and head was done previously.
Searching Haynes pro for p0016-62 only points towards wiring diagrams for the camshaftand crank sensor?
Are they correct or could it be something else I'm over looking?
Really appreciate all input.
