An 'engine' of sorts.
Rather long and in American but tolerable.

It is not so much the engine but its intended purpose that struck me as interesting! :-D

Interesting but hard to watch and listen too, very excitable presenter. At least he isn't American.

They're staying away from a wet belt. They certainly are learning from others' experiences.

One of the benefits of that style of engine that Horse are making - basically a range extender engine - is that they are configured to only run at one speed. This means that they can really hone in on efficiency and do away with various engine components that are doomed to fail at some point. You don't need variable valve or cam timing, if you fit a turbo it only has to contend with one constant load, you don't need valves in the intake pipes. It is, actually, a pragmatic solution to range anxiety and range extension.
Now all the car manufacturers have to do is make every component in their cars ultra reliable and do away with built in failure modes. Shouldn't be too difficult to achieve :rofl2: :rofl2:

That's what I have. 2.2 150 bhp.
Mine was rebuilt before I bought it. The advice that I received was that they are very sensitive to the oil level and quality so I decided to do an oil change every six months, so much like the US norm of every 3,000 miles as it doesn't go far and mostly short distances.
Looked in the handbook (a bit of a nightmare on it's own) and the recommendation is every six months. Just done last week.

I think most engines can be quite tolerant. Not these though.
Second daughter and her son both have MX5 skyactive petrol cars and love them.
I was there the day she brought his from Wales for him.
