I was suspicious when he talked about engaging the gears and was sure when it mentions the clutch. Proper auto boxes have a torque converter and not a clutch. They have brake bands internally to handle the gear changing.

I feel that any diagnostic machine that offers this sort of service to reinitialise an automatic gearbox should be able to cope with both types. The term "Pack function" is also used in Diagboxes for when something needs reinitialising or initialising for the first time when it's a new fitment.
