Strut gaiter

Hi all,
Assuming that it is not good to have the front strut gaiters (xantia 1.9tdlx) hanging off, is there an easy way of getting them back on and making them stay there?? I wound like to lubricate the struts a little and cover them up, but I can't get the gaiters on properly!

mine pop off everynow and then..is it possible to put a tie wrap around it ???

I was going to try and put a tie wrap around them once I had got them back on but I can't manage to get the gaiter onto the lip of the rubber mount bit properly!! Will have to try harder I guess!
