Scuttle drains blocked?
Leak in drivers side footwell. (rainwater)
I watched a few youtube videos and looked on forums for solution first of all.
Took wipers and scuttle panel off and cleared debris around the drain/ outlet, a lot of leaves and mud had built up over the years. Put all back together.
However drivers side footwell is still taking in water in heavy rain.
A few questions I have been considering to solve the issue...
Does the rainwater just flow down from the outlet hole into the wheel arch then onto the floor? (so effectively its a long metal tube that the water travels down from under the engine bay to wheel arch?)
Can this tube be cleared out by using a metal rod from the engine bay end (top to bottom) or is it better to take the wheel arch off to gain access to any blockages lower down? (bottom to top)
Ive read some cars have a one way valve near the wheel arch where the water comes out, does Peugeot have these or is it just a tube with a hole each end?
How does the rain water find its way inside the footwell if the outlet is blocked / or draining too slowly?
Does anyone know if the issue might be something other than a blockage in the water outlet? (drivers side) What else to check?
Ive just ordered a long flexible metal rod to put down the outlet to see if that helps unblock the issue.
Any help most welcome (and thank you in advance).

It can be worth blasting down the tube with an airline too
I used to be indecisive, now I'm not so sure!

If it's anything like my old PUG ,rainwater will enter the car via the heater's air entry & fan if the drain is blocked & water level in scuttle rises or is 'sloshed' around whilst driving.
If this is the problem be prepared to replace the heater fan's resistance board as this can be ruined by water.

Did you find out what caused this? My 208 is exactly the same. I wondered if there was a pipe or a rubber thing in the wheel arch too. Somebody mentioned it coming in around the pollen filter housing too.

I took the wheel arch liners out yesterday. There is nothing under the hole for the scuttle at all.
