Bagels - Why?

Unread post by mickthemaverick »

Could someone please explain to me: In what way is a bagel better than a roll when you want to fill it with salad? :?:

Couldn't agree more about the pointless existence of bagels. To those I can add breadsticks and rice cakes. And, in a personal battle against it, beetroot.

Ahhh, you can get a lox more in a Bagel....

I am generally not energised by types of bread products and am happy to let them co-exist....

The total and absolute bas@@@@@rd who invented cheese however should be shot......who wants to eat rotten milk that smells like feet !!!

ps:
A note to God (or the responsible alien design team)........... Cauliflower, yeh OK, good joke

The roll with the less fattening centre
I'm rather partial to a toasted bagel myself, had a couple of cinnamon and apple ones slathered in butter for breakfast yesterday. Not had any as a sandwich though as stuff could fall through the hole :)

If you class a carrot as a salad filling, then they work quite well - if unconventionally - with a bagel. :-D

Like that without a filling I can understand but the New York Bakery keep advertising them filled with salad stuff for breakfast and I just don't get it!! :)

There's one in London famous for its smoked salmon and cream cheese bagels. One bite and it'll be down your shirt from the built in sphincter

Tried it, don't like it and can't see why so many do. Same as bagels.

New York Bakery....to Bagels what Warburton value slice white is to plasterboard.

The design allows you to carry 2 cups of coffee and 3/4 bagels up to the bedroom in the morning :) (I advice not hot toasted ones !)

And presumably not filled ones Alasdair? Although in that scenario I'd rather have doughnuts on my fingers :rofl2:
