A few day's ago Mme came rushing in to tell me she wanted to get her car out of the barn but the door was going up & down without her commands & she couldn't get out.
I rushed out to witness the door doing a weird sort of scary up & down dance going neither fully either way before changing direction.
Having tried pulling out & replacing the plug feeding the motor to no avail & flipping the push/push manual switch a few times all to no avail I was lost until I suddenly remembered I'd left the spare remote in my work trouser's pocket.
Oops! said herself as she led me to the scullery where my trousers were gaily doing the rounds in the washing machine.
The pants were rescued , sodden remote extracted & battery removed when of course the door stopped it's dance.
A blast of the remote with a hair dryer sorted the problem & the spare is still working OK today.
Phew !!!

Look on the bright side, you now have a clean remote, probably smells quite nice too.
