207 wet floor Uk driver side

Unread post by nikeastwood »

Wet floor after rain, and its a bit rainy this year to date!!

So I took the cowling off under windscreen and the small drain on drivers side was blocked, so thats running free now. I poured some water into the roof rack channel to make sure those drains are running and they are fine, also I removed door card to check inside and thats ok too.

I thought I had it sorted, but I took the car for a wash today and when I got back I had a feel around the pedal area to see if anything had dripped in and it had, seems to be coming from just above where the carpet fastener is behind the clutch pedal, this water then must be coming in via the box that holds the cabin filter so I will pull the cowling off again and have another look, its kinda tight in that area due to the wiper mech, but are there any seals that can be repaired there or not?

Which year and body style is your car?
I used to be indecisive, now I'm not so sure!

I've had a look through my Peugeot Servicebox backup and I'm afraid I cannot find any diagrams of the bulkhead and bungs etc. Hopefully someone with personal knowledge will be able to help out. Good luck :)

I think I have sorted it but another problem has arisen

for the leak, removed wipers and cowling

then removed wiper mechanism, just two bolts hold it in and a bit of wriggling to get it out

the box that the pollen filter go in unclips and can be lifted out, you can then see inside the duct that goes to the heater

there was some sealant missing between heater and car body, likely to let water in so I sealed it up again, put everything back, seemingly ok and I drove the car about 100 yards around to the front of the house

10 mins later a neighbour knocked on, the wipers and lights are going on my car.

battery flat, upon turning key it was showing "economy mode" and a warning for every system was popping up and beeping on the dash.

tried a jump starter, nothing

No idea whats caused that, I didnt have to unplug the wiper motor wiring but it was disturbed.

so have left it for today, put my spare battery on charge and have another look tomorrow after putting that in.
no egr, no dpf, no problems.

I have a 2018 208 and I get a feeling I have the same issue. I have checked everything including scuttles, doors and having my windscreen refitted. Car was dry finally and then I poured water in the scuttle area. Suddenly there is damp near centre console at the front to the left of the pedals. It must be coming in from behind the pollen filter.
Hope your car is working ok now as I am a tad anxious about trying this on mine now.
