Re: VinNumber and parts
This ebay listing matches your part number and is described as fully working :https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/236501751894
I used to be indecisive, now I'm not so sure!
I used to ride on two wheels, but now I need all four!

Re: VinNumber and parts
Sorry to bother you again Mick but noticed on the link to the part on ebay the last 6 numbers on the set of numbers beginning with ‘BSI’ differ to that on mine:
Mine: are BSI04EV K01-00 050410
Ebay part: BS104EV K01-00 150110
Question is; do the last 6 numbers on that set matter or are the upper set of numbers beginning with 9 the important ones which do match perfectly?
Tracing part numbers is new to me and i know i need to get familiar with it, so all info helps with the learning curve!

Re: VinNumber and parts
I believe the upper set beginning with 9 are the part number and the lower set refer to that actual unit. I suspect the last 6 digits are the serial number of that actual unit but I cannot say so for certain. Hopefully another member may be able to confirm that.

Re: VinNumber and parts
You could ask that question at a dealership if nobody else comes on here in a sensible time.

The dealerships i’ve spoken to appear to be a bit uptight about parting with any info! Like they’re guarding the crown jewels!
But i’ll persevere!

The last 6 numbers look to be a date.

Re: VinNumber and parts
PaulC5 appreciate the input! I’ve been a little busy last couple of days with an asbestos team and change of broadband provider. But I’ve had a breakthrough after steeling my nerves to remove the glove box panel and remove the part number label.
I Posted the a picture of the ‘part label’ on a ‘parts suppliers ebay site’. Doesn’t stock my mine unfortunately, but good enough to educate me that it’s was the set of numbers beginning with ‘9’ that mattered and have found and ordered a used part from a seemingly well regarded supplier on ebay who i also sent a pic of the label to and came up with a match!
I’ve Decided to throw myself down the rabbit hole have it cloned and recoded (never knew that was a thing!
) remove the old and install the new …. ‘hopefully’
Apparently the cloning links it back to the ecu and keys. Found a fella called ‘ phillips auto tech’ cloning service on ebay who seems to fit the bill, and the mechanic who serviced my vehicle said it’s easy enough to ‘plug in and play’ So i’ll give it a go, pray for the best, and scream for help if it goes wrong.
