309 sunroof drain leak

Unread post by Gsbx1220 »

Hello.

I have a sunrooof drain leak into the cabin on my 309 which has the factory sliding sunroof with the vacuum seal.
On peeling the headlining back, I can see that the front corner drain tubes from the sunroof tray are quite corroded and weeping slightly.

It copes with normal rain ok, but not so good with washing the car when large volumes of water are flowing. After washing the car and driving it water comes out of the ceiling light.

Does anyone know if a repair kit is available for this. I was thinking something along the lines of some sort of push fit tube that is fitted from the well in the sunroof tray into the car and is joined onto the drain pipes.

Or is there a recognised repair method for this.

It’s quite annoying as the rest of the car is very very rust free.

There are many sunroof repair videos on Youtube so have a trawl through and you may find the answer! :)
I used to be indecisive, now I'm not so sure!
I used to ride on two wheels, but now I need all four!

Seen the above solution when having a quick google.

It might work depending if it fits the drain hole, but it would mean cutting away the metal drain tube from the sunroof tray, so that’s pretty final. And if it doesn’t work……
Not brave enough to modify the sunroof tray in any way and make things even worse!
Just now it’s only pinholed.

Another thought I had would be sleeving it internally with something.
