Hi. My friend has a 2001 peugeot 206cc 1.6 petrol VIN: VF3**************[VIN obfuscated, can be read by forum staff], number in door jam 889288.
Theres a bunch of electrical problems with it:
Periodically it wont start, but then if you wait a few minutes it will. The engine just cranks but doesnt start.
There is no power to pin 16 (constant power) in the obd2 port in any positions on the ignition, but when the engine is running, the pin gets grounded.
If we try to jump pin 1 (switched power) and pin 16 (constant power) there is no communication between a diagnostics tester and the engine control unit, but all other control units are communicating fine.
When the ignition is on, all lights work. But if the engine is started the parking lights in the front and back doesnt work, no matter the position of the light switch. But when started, all other lights like low/high beam, blinkers, fog lights work fine.
No fuses are blown.
Anyone have any ideas whatsoever about where to look? I have posted pictures of the fusebox in the engine bay and cabin and also the BSI box under the interior fusebox. We could also use knowledge about where to find reliable wiring diagrams for this car.

Unfortunately we do not have access to the Stellantis database at the moment so cannot identify your car from the VIN. If you can confirm the Body style, ESP fitted or not, Gearbox, Engine type and type of headlights I may be able to find a diagram for you on my backup system.
I used to be indecisive, now I'm not so sure!

These are the diagrams covering most of the lights. There are others for brake and reversing lights but I settled for these to begin with. If you use the diagram guide at the link below it will help you decipher the diagrams.

Re: No OBD comm. No power to OBD and periodic no start
Thank you. We will try to have a look at these. Do you have any idea why its only the engine control we cant communicate with when we jump pin 1 and 16? Im thinking the K-line should be fine all the way, otherwise we would either have fault codes in other ecu’s or no communication with any of the ecu’s? Like canbus, if you have a broken wire then the line is broken somewhere and there would be faults for it? Or does K-line not work like that?
