Having experienced fuel starvation issues (biodiesel + cold weather= gelling and fuel filter clogged with jelly like deposits) on my XUD9TE 306, that was more like it was running out of power, high load, heavy acceleration - it just felt flat, as filter got more blocked it got more and more out of puff at lower and lower RPM.

But idled fine! Which makes sense as fuel use at idle is incredibly low, but foot down hard is big fuel flow.

Obviously a HDi would have added complications of the ECU doing it's best to make the engine run as requested, so my example might be a poor one -

But I'd be surprised if fuel system clogged with diesel bug was affected idle

Maybe try a dose of this:
Fuel Biocide | Wynn's UK https://share.google/vG2TNRii50K6OT4Mq

Think Halfords and many other places stock it.

Tiny amount of diesel bug I encountered (not a problem)

I'd not take fuel sender ring off in a hurry - the damn thing was an absolute pain in the bum to get it back in place correctly!!

Hi Matt, it's down on power as well. I plugged it just the usual p1351 glow plugs fault. I did notice the piloted air module is jammed open.but it's a flap in the grille I cant see it causing idling issues. I could be corrected on that. Egr is at -10% at idle which I think means it is stuck open slightly so possibly causing it.

I can't get near the cars at the moment the weather has been horrendous. It hasn't stopped raining since the start of the year. If it keeps up I may buy a boat.or and amphibious car for when I reach dry land. Ahoy 😂

Good plan Darren :D In the UK back in the 80s we had a desperately awful quiz show called 'Bullseye' The gameplay is not important but the top prize was often a speedboat. Usually won by a person who would had no clue what to do with it.

Back then, about as useless a prize as they go but nowadays very useful. Lots of Internet memes joking about it...

Hope it soon stops raining [-o<
