2021 508 SW 2.0 Blue Hdi Caliper Retraction

Unread post by johnny1901 »

Hello,

I searched the forum but could not find any information on this. I need to change F + R discs and pads on my 2021 MK2 508 SW 2.0 blue Hdi. Does anyone know whether the caliper pistons are screw in or push in? I have the tool but do not want to damage the pistons unless I know whether they are clockwise/anti-clockwise or simple push in. Any advice appreciated.

Also it seems impossible to get service/repair information for modern Stellantis cars. Short of paying for a day's access to Servicebox and downloading everything I can, does anyone know of where to get service data for modern Peugeots? I can't even find torque settings.

If you have an electric parking brake then I strongly suspect that officially you'll need a high-end diagnostic tool to disengage the brake. This is how it is on my 2015 308SW. BUT there are videos on YouTube showing how you can change the pads by partially dismantling the calliper assembly. Maybe the 508 is the same?

This video is rather long winded but at the 6 minute mark you will see him wind the caliper piston back clockwise!! :)

I used to be indecisive, now I'm not so sure!
