On the cartridge-type filter on my Picasso van I always use the torque wrench on it and never is it a problem. Those not properly tightened have been a worrying fight in the past. And with canister types I do as you do Matt. Spin on - spin off strictly by hand

Yes the big 27mm nut of the DV6 cartridge filter housing I know well. I don't torque wrench that one but do it "enough" and it's problem free

As my van has the 'innie' sump plug I remain of the opinion I get more oil out with the sucker than I do if I drain in the traditional way...

I know that "innie" well too, highly recommend a "conversion" to flush / outie

Wynn's additive says

500 ml bottle treats 45 to 75 liters of Adblue

So (500 / 45 ) x 20 = 222 ml for the new bottle of Adblue

So 250ml poured into this new container. Thought treating the whole lot better than doing the sums every time I top up.

Blue 308 SW adblue tank refilled: 3.5 fluid ounces (as seemingly the long spout is dual marked and I was filling up to the imperial lines!)

Other news I've grabbed a couple (as 5% saving for bulk buying) of Borg and Beck brand engine air filters as had a 15% discount code (in addition to the 5% off) on eBay. Worked out £8.46 each delivered which is cheaper than Audodoc's Ridex own brand elements. Everywhere else (GSF, euro etc, about double that)

Might even arrive tomorrow so can get one swapped in over the weekend

Many brand names have been bought up as businesses go broke so maybe these equity groups use the name to suggest quality/historic brands to help sales. I do not know if this is the case for Good Year though.

First job today, was the usual:

Then looked to identify what brakes are actually fitted to the Blue 308 - as Autodoc suggests three different sizes for the front and two choices for the back!

A tip online suggested an excellent way of measuring disk diameter - use one of these:

Disk is pretty scored (surprised was not an MOT advisory) so might look to change them.
Pad thickness not bad at all, will likely not change these (unless I spot some as cheap as GSF lists: £5! But sadly a "good price but no stock anywhere" purely hypothetical bargain.

Just imagine turning up to do a car boot sale with that in the back , someone probably would by a couple of buckets of soil for there garden, when my drive was made bigger a few yrs back I was going to skip all the dirt , no need half the village took it ! Saved me some money I still go past several gardens and say there's my soil in that one , and that one!

Ha ha, that's great! I've offered previously the better of the soil (as some is pretty clay claggy stuff) on our local Facebook group but no takers. Well, about half a wheelbarrow of it went!
