Hello,
I have a 2016 508SW 180 BHP HDi "blue" diesel with 85k miles. Recently I had a breakdown in France - overheating. (Annoying - my UK garage had advised replacement on the next annual service.)
I had the water pump, belt, thermostat and thermostat housing changed. £1100. But on collection, the French mechanic pointed out another component which he said needed replacement. It was ticking loudly. Please see photo. It's adjacent to the bulkhead.
The ticking has subsided since, and no warning lights.
I did not catch the name of this component - please could anyone advise what it is and any ideas on part number / replacement / refurbishment etc ? I have tried a Google image search which suggested an EGR component but I'm not convinced. Maybe the Purge Control Valve ?
Thank you.
508 SW diesel - what is this part & how to fix it ?

I've not had a 2.0HDi so I cannot help I'm afraid but I'm sure someone will soon answer your question
I used to be indecisive, now I'm not so sure!
I used to ride on two wheels, but now I need all four!
