Our blue bins should have a tray at the top for cardboard and paper but they are long gone and it all goes in together, or more realistically blows around the neighbourhood from the overfilled bins.

For a while I worked in the yard next to where this was filmed so recognise some of the buildings :) I may have even explored some of them as they were empty when I was around then :)

Had a spare moment and filled it with that video - excellent.

Made me chuckle (as well as the frightfully awfully accents!) when he did intro and decided best to refer to it as "small minded Worthing" - ha ha! Stabbed in the front, sheeshhh! :rofl2:

I wonder if the council guy was 'putting on' the posh accent for the BBC.

A couple of pictures:

Last Friday's trip to grab some (2.7m, 9 foot) plasterboard. Previously used a pallet, this time took ladders along to support the boards (as don't fit in the 2.5m long bed of the trailer and it can't run with the tailgate dropped)

Second, a purchase yesterday.

Another 308 CD drive, this time a "prototype stage D10" not D11 (as was the first one I bought) - still hoping to add that functionality to the blue 308 SW

My address - a Click and Collect option I have used before, without issue, is apparently wrong in some unspecified way!
One step forward, two back.

Refund came through, no explanation whatsoever (other than the above on the refund email that I'd easily have overlooked)

I've sent the seller a message asking them to explain exactly what's wrong with that address. Baffling!

On the look out for another D10 unit now!

The seller probably realised they'd already sold the head unit so they couldn't post it to you. I'm guessing the way ebay works, it looks better for the seller if they can blame you for needing the refund rather than admit it was their own fault :(

I recently had problems trying to buy oil and a filter for a quad bike - the first seller went bust just as I ordered it and wouldn't cancel the order and refund me as no one was answering emails in their office, so I had to wait for it not to be delivered so I could claim my money back. I then tried with a second seller and they 'dispatched it untracked' despite saying they send everything tracked. Lo and behold - it never arrived. When I looked into the feedback, there were numerous buyers complaining their items never arrived and they were sent untracked. The seller always responded that the item was refused at the point of delivery or somesuch (all a load of rubbish). This is because it's better to blame the buyer than admit they'd not got the item to send out in the first place.

Maybe so, I'm not sure if "sold item then cancelled due to (actually non-existent) buyer problem" saves on eBay fees??

I have noticed there is sometimes a justification of "buyer asked to cancel the sale" (when I've done nothing of the sort!) given when they've been unable to hold their end of the transaction - I assumed this was done to avoid some sort of "bad seller" rating for cancelling transactions.

I do appreciate actually being told what's happening though - e.g. in the past the item has (apparently) got damaged in storage, fair enough these things happen. Messaged to tell me and then "buyer asked to cancel" is no issue to me.

Yep fair enough. EBay is generally set up that the buyer can do no wrong - so blaming me is probably path of least resistance! :-D

What a faff!

Fair to say there's unscrupulous sellers and buyers in equal measure!

These days I tend to stick to known suppliers on ebay plus any with 100% feedback over 500+ sales. Not had any issues so far!! :-D

I'll avoid low and negative feedback, (once saw a seller with "-1" feedback score, if you've made that much of a mess of your first attempt may as well start over with a new account surely!?!) but will entertain sellers with low number of (positive) feedback - we've all got to start somewhere.

Incidentally this CD drive seller: 2173 positive (10 neutral and 7 negative) so not really getting alarm bells ringing to me :)

£30 seems a bit cheap for a head unit if it is also the radio. Our 308 2019 needed a new radio since the touchscreen was not working, it was about £1300 for the part plus another £200 to fit and programme including the latest maps.
