Well that takes two of my four off the table, the Lancia and the Subaru so now it's between the Triumph 2000 and the Renault Gordini for the colour!! Hmmm...........
I used to be indecisive, now I'm not so sure!
I used to ride on two wheels, but now I need all four!

The decision is in, had to pick between the interiors in the end and the Gordini takes it so just to upset the neighbours it will be this:

Love that first spoiler Matt, undoubtedly where the idea came from for a French car!

Right, decision time.
I thought about one of the Vespas - not the horrid green one - to bring back memories of youth when I happily rode my 125 Vespa to the beach in N Devon for evening swims with mates. But no, nostalgia is one thing but actually using it now would be silly. Then I looked at the Hunter. I had a 1967 one, 1725cc alloy head, which became beyond economic repair when a piston ring broke at 167,000 miles (I got it from my father when he got a company car. at 20,000 miles so I did 147k in it). It served me very well for years. Same colour too, but I don't think that one is a Hunter. Rootes dropped the Minx as a separate model and brought out a 'cheaper Hunter' a few years in - 1500cc, no chrome strips down the side and suchlike. The one for sale looks like that and it would frustate me to have a not quite right one. Tempted by the pre GM SAAB 900, had 2 SAABs both great but fuel consumption and VED aren't good and I doubt I would enjoy it for long.
So - its the Renault 4 wreck for me assuming the price is right. Narrow enough to get into the back garden in the gap between house and garage and with the windows left ajar and a tarp over the roof it's the perfect place to store and season blanks for my woodturning hobby. A bit of shelving to bring on seedlings in trays in spring, and maybe a couple of wire baskets wedged alongside the engine to keep a few garden hand tools in. If the front seats are structurally OK they can come out and be fixed to wooden blocks as garden seats/ somewhere to sit and put your wellies on. Only problem I can see is getting it there ....

All the motor companies did a cheaper downmarket version of their best sellers the Morris Oxford popped up as a Cowley with a 1200cc engine instead of the 1500cc, Ford did the Popular as stripped down version of the Anglia, Austin did a 1200cc A40 as a cheapie Austin A50, etc. just to keep their sales figures up

Re: If you could have any one , which would you pick?
Always had a liking for the Rootes 'Arrow' series Richard and they've held their looks and character really well
One good friend of mine in the 70s had a Minx and another had a Hunter. The Hunter was a replacement for an Avenger he wrote off and nearly wrote me and Minx-owning friend off too... It was 50 years ago now and I still wonder how five of us got out of that car relatively unscathed... I had no seat belt on and went out through the windscreen - maybe that saved my life...
I had two of them back in the 70s. Great cars and I still love them to this day... Not cool to have one as a teenager when friends were running around in Rootes's finest but totally reliable, easy to fix/bodge, dirt-cheap to run and loads of space in the back with the back seats out of the way - important considerations in those days

It's been a while since we had to make a choice, I'd be tempted with a white MG but would probably get outbid by Jim, so I'll go for the KR200 which is almost a replica of my original one!!

I'm not decided on my final pick yet, but as you'd expect - I had a good look at the two Mercedes SL.
