C4 grand picasso mk1 epb calibration failure

Unread post by Draoi »

Hello and happy new year to everyone 🥳

I'm hoping someone can help me in figuring out how to resolve a calibration issue on my 2009 c4 grand picassos epb.

I recently replaced rear disc and pads prior to going for the NCT (irish MOT), which it failed on the epb. I was told this was due to a calibration issue after the service work (the epb still engaged and disengaged, although it did not seem to tension evenly on both sides. I attempted to run a calibration but the process could not be completed and the epb stopped working completely after this with dash warnings of epb faulty and esp faulty coming up. I then went to check epb cables, motor and callipers and discovered that the right side calliper pb lever had a lot of play compared to the left side (cables and motor seemed fine), promptly replaced the calliper and attempted calibration again, this time the tensioning and calibration processes completed but the issue persists with faults flashing on dash and epb not engaging/releasing via switch ( it can be actuated via scan tool) and the fault code (C155A Electric Parking Brake Not Calibrated: Stroke-force Law. Not Characterised) not clearing.

I'm at my wits end on this one.... is it only possible to calibrate with Diagbox/lexia? What am I missing? Vin: VF7**************[VIN obfuscated, can be read by forum staff]
Any help would be greatly appreciated 🙏

Thank you Husky,
I've been trawling through the forum for a few days now and didn't get any clarity yet, I'll keep looking 🫠

Update: problem solved, it was in fact a calliper issue, the new one I had fitted was defective. Diag/lexia was not required and calibration was performed with a Launch X431 v4.
