Size of spanner

What size of spanner do I need to undo the hydro pipes on my xantia. 7mm is small 8mm is big and I dont think they make 1/2 sizes. Is it a special Citroen size?

They should be 8mm though they can go slightly undersize due to corrosion, if so try 5/16 AF this is slightly down on 8mm, a better idea would be to invest in a set of flared nut spanners rather than use plain open ended ones, they are less likely to damage the nut.
