Chassis Coding a replacement radio - anyone with Lexia near Ipswich?

Unread post by julianb »

Hi All,
I'm replacing the Magneti Marelli sat nav unit in my 2008 C5 X7 with a replacement unit. I have Thinkdiag software which will show me the VIN coded into the replacement unit but won't let me change it (I think - still talking to them). Does anyone who drinks red wine have a Lexia set up near Ipswich, I'd happily swap a 'bon bouteille' for 15 minutes to code my replacement radio with the my VIN number?

The replacement works fine with all functions in my car, steering wheel controls, reversing sensors and the like so probably only needs the VIN changing to stop it beeping, but I've been quoted £120 by an indie (!!) and £90 by a main dealer to do this which I consider a tad extreme......

Hi Julian
I think your offer may well tempt someone and I do believe we have a member in your part of the world with Lexia so you may be lucky! :-D
I used to be indecisive, now I'm not so sure!
I used to ride on two wheels, but now I need all four!

Sorry to jump in on your thread! I have just acquired a 2014 3008 which requires vin coding to it's RT6 head unit (it works but has the incessant beeping!). I'm also in Ipswich and in need of someone with Lexia/Diagbox.
Incidentally, I run a street food trailer at Ipswich Market (Burritos, tacos & quesadillas!) so I could add something delicious to pair with your bottle to anyone who could also help me out! By all accounts it appears to be a 5 minute job, happy to drive to most nearby locations.
Thank you!

Hi both
I’m in Chelmsford, not a million miles away so I’m an option.

Hi Iain, sorry for the late response - I'd not received any notification of a reply! I did end up buying the Lexia cable/adapters/software from someone near me for a song so have sorted it out. Thank you for offering to help, if I hadn't sorted it I would definitely have been up for the jaunt to Chelmsford!
Julian - if you still need this sorted, drop me line. I'm in Ipswich, Castle Hill area. Happy to help you out 😊
