I would have chosen the 1952 Sunbeam Talbot but it's been messed about with too much.

Re: If you could have any one , which would you pick?
One of the Bentley S2s would be an interesting car to own for a while, and I rather fancy the 1976 Toyota Celica ST, or perhaps the 1954 MG TF, but I'll settle on the 1970 Bentley T1 - it's rarer than the common-as-muck
Silver Shadow and I think it, or a Shadow, are the sort of car that ought to be owned so they can be experienced.... even just for a short while

Nobody going for the snack size Renault lorry?
https://www.i-bidder.com/en-gb/auction- ... a000f98bc6
No idea what I'd do with it, but looks a well built curiosity
On the basis it's a bit "messed about with" and hence cheap (you'd hope!) I think I'd be tempted by the 205 CTI + what looks to be a GTi-180 engine from a 206. I'd have thought a nice light EW10J4S was a good addition to a 205.
Drab grey not my cup of tea though. Interior is much brighter (and the better for it)

Numberplate is perhaps a bit too suggestive as to what'd be shouted at you if driven "with a bit too much vivacity" on the road

Re: If you could have any one , which would you pick?
I did give that some consideration having had a Mitsubishi Delica in the past, which I ran on chip oil, but the idea of the Rascal appealed because I had the van version and always enjoyed bombing around in it after my conversion to the fuelling.

A bit big but as a pure indulgence, the Jensen Interceptor. And for as bit of two-wheeled fun, the Suzuki TS125

Re: If you could have any one , which would you pick?
Only three on there that would interest me Mick, the Armstrong Siddeley the Austin A135 and perhaps the Ford P100 pick up.

Sorry James, that is just not good enough you have to go through the same anguish that I am in dismissing ones you want. I'm still wrestling with 4!!

Re: If you could have any one , which would you pick?
Even in his maddest days, I don't think Jim would have that R4. The paint is the only thing holding it in shape. A restoration of that would consist of first replacing all the body panels, then replacing all the structural panels, then all of the running gear. You might - just - get away with keeping the glassHell Razor5543 wrote: 02 Jan 2026, 18:46 ARRGGGHHHH!!!!! There are three that I want! However, I think I know what Jim might have.

Re: If you could have any one , which would you pick?
In the 'Close, but no cigar' category, I'd have the.....
Jaaaaag XKR convertible - always liked them
MG SV X-power - but James is after that
NSU 1200C - it's uncommon and a bit different
Saab 900 XS - gotta own one at some stage
Subaru Justy - find another one like that !
Volvo 850 T-5R - fun fun fun
Volvo PV544 - nice and unusual
or maybe the Lanci Delta HF - just so Mick would have to choose something else
But I'll settle for the Citroen BX17 TZD as it's already had a lot of money spent on it so should be good for a few miles yet
