LIN wire route from alternator

Unread post by Nafoora10 »

Hi
I need to find the route of the LIN wire that comes from the 1 pin connector on the alternator and goes either to the PSF/1 or the BSI on my 2010 3008 1.6HDI engine code DVC6 9HR VIN No VF3**************[VIN obfuscated, can be read by forum staff] , the alternator will not charge unless I pull out and then reinsert the F3 fuse on the battery fusebox.
I've changed the alternator, BSM and battery fusebox but the fault still remains. by pulling the F3 fuse and reinserting I believe the BSI or the PSF/1 breaks the current and then renergises
causing the alternator to WAKE UP!!. I want to run a new wire from the alternator connector to wherever it receives this wake up signal from so that I could bypass any breakage there may be in the original wire

I have spent some time on Sedre wiring diagrams looking for the answer to your query but I simply cannot find a diagram that shows it clearly. Hopefully another member who knows the car better than me (I don't know it at all :-D ) will see your post and help you out. Good luck :)
I used to be indecisive, now I'm not so sure!
I used to ride on two wheels, but now I need all four!

I doubt that the wire is your problem, as loss of communication on the LIN bus will throw an engine management fault code.

Have you tried fitting a new battery? I was surprised when replacing a seemingly good battery fixed the alternator on our 308, it seems that the algorithm used by the ECU does not work when the battery gets old (even if it happily starts the engine).

BTW, the alternator is on the engine starting page of the wiring diagrams.
