Has anyone received a timing chain refund from Stellantis?

Unread post by lambie413 »

As the subject suggests I am having issues getting a refund from Stellantis for repairs to my timing chain.

In March the timing chain on my 1.5BlueHDI snapped and I had it repaired at my local dealer.

During October I launched a claim through the Stellantis portal and uploaded all of the info they needed.

Almost three weeks ago I received an offer of payment and uploaded my bank details. There were some issues on their end in verifying that the account was mine and after a bit of back and forth communication stopped.

I have heard nothing from them for almost three weeks and still haven't received payment. The Stellantis team working on these cases is impossible to contact, my dealer is clueless and hardly anyone at Citroen Customer care can speak decent English.

On Wednesday the poor bloke at Citroen that I spoke to opened a case even though he didn't really understand me and I didn't understand him. Today he emailed me to say: 'Having carefully considered your request, we must regrettably confirm that we will not be able on this occasion to offer any compensation to you from our side.' I am utterly confused.

The whole process is a shambles. Has anybody else received a refund and can give me an idea on how long the payment took after uploading bank details??

If anyone has contact details for the relevant Stellantis team I would be eternally grateful!

The only contact details I can offer are the links in this web page: https://www.stellantis.com/en/contacts/ ... n-platform :)

Thanks Mick

I've tried lots of different numbers for both Stellantis and Citroen but none of them have been any use. Nobody at either company has been able to help me with any queries as they say the recall is handled on a different system and they don't know the contact details for that specific team.

I received an email to say that they were making me an offer of compensation and to log into the portal were I could accept it or decline it

Logged on, accepted offer and entered bank details. Expected payment in a couple of days but it has been almost three weeks!

I don't suppose you screenshotted the portal when you filled in your details?

Unfortunately I didn't. Wish I had as it had details of how much I was offered.

I read on Facebook that someone had some success by emailing the CEO of Stellantis UK. Dropped an email off today in desperation.

I logged a claim on the portal Nov 4th, after taking several attempts to upload the right documents it wanted.
I accepted the refund proposal on Nov 10th. I submitted bank details and uploaded the documents 4 times, as 3 times it bounced back saying it was not satisfactory.
I then thought I would receive the refund within a few days, but still waiting.

I was offered the full amount of my claim, almost 1k. Perhaps they only action the refunds once per month

Hi.

I contacted Citroen customer service (English). They speaked pretty good English.

I can give you the number:
+33 9 69391818

Maybe you have already called to this number, but this is the line where to call when you are making reclamation or need to solve out something else.

Stellantis (Citroen, Peugeot etc.) may not be the best company to solve out problems they have caused.

Glad to hear it isn't just me!

I too had my bank details bounce back. Initially they said that the IBAN didn't match my statement (it did) then they said my name didn't match my account (not true).

If they only pay out one a month I will have a maximum of 8 more days to wait as I received my offer on the 28th of October. Fingers crossed!

My IBAN bounced like yours. My bank statement includes spaces in the IBAN, but the form doesn't allow spaces. I submitted 3 times and each time rejected soon after, so I switched to my Monzo banking account that I don't really use. It still had spaces in the IBAN, but seemed to get accepted. It's quite ridiculous.

Anyway, we're a week on since the last message. Have you heard anything? I haven't and it's still stuck with the status "Request under assessment by Stellantis"

I am still waiting and my status says exactly the same thing as yours.

No response from the CEO of Citroen UK or his team and Citroen Customer services hung up the phone on me at the end of last week because I politely requested that the payment be sent asap.

The 28th is one calendar month since I accepted my offer. If I don't hear from them by the start of next week I'll start down the small claims route.

Don't think I'll ever own another Stellantis vehicle again after this.

I am truly saddened by reading the things in this thread but alternatively count myself lucky that when I needed to replace my last C5 I couldn't find one with the kit I wanted and so ended up buying the Subaru. I am beginning to look on that as a lucky escape!! :-D

Same here, I replaced our C5 with a Skoda Octavia and I am very pleased with it. The other day using it with the heated seats and heated steering wheel on it was very cosy and comfy and capable of doing all the things I need of it. Not sure what to do with the 308 with its 1.5 hdi engine when that is coming up for replacement.

I checked last night, no update.
I've checked just now, and the status has changed to 'claim paid'.
I haven't received the money yet, or received an email... but it seems a good sign, perhaps it'll arrive later today. IBAN payments may take a few days I suppose.
Worth checking yours as well.
