It seems to be able to influence operation of the relay also. Pin 3 of the relay and pin 34 on the ECU should be connected, the connection is not very stable on my car though. And what is 82-- on the scheme 12.6 ? That is supposedly where 822 A and 822 B should meet ?
82-- is the immo system so some will be comms wires to the CPH.
CPH failures i would say are very rare.
