Hi all, I'm new to the forum and am looking for a bit of guidance.
I am considering buying a Peugeot Partner Tepee as my daily and, to then use occasionally as a micro camper, using 'a put in pull out' Boot Jump. I have scoured the market for vehicles in the £4-5,000 price range, with mileages varying from 65,000 to 130,000, in the year frame between 2009-2015. What I am looking for is people's realtime experience of these cars, to give me an idea of what I may be up against in terms of typical failings. The shape and size are ideal for my purposes, so any advice would be gratefully received. I understand the Citroen Berlingo is basically the same car but for the badge, so any owners of these please chip with your thoughts.
Many thanks,
one and all

Re: Peugeot Partner Tepee
My plumber has been using Berlingo vans for years and has always found them ideal for purpose and pretty reliable. He does around 30k a year, buys 2nd hand 2 year olds and runs them for 4-5 years. He's never had a problem bigger than a failed EGR but he does keep up the maintenance as he should.
I used to be indecisive, now I'm not so sure!
I used to ride on two wheels, but now I need all four!

At that sort of mileage you need to check everything and electrics work. You may find this age range car has to pay congestion/pollution charges since diesels may not be euro 6. Following applies to diesels but some may also be for petrol.
Timing belts are typically every 10 years or around 100k miles if sooner, clutches/dmf likely worn (our 1.6 hdi Cactus replaced this year at 76k miles and £2200, diy would have been less), exhaust dpf filter would be due for replacement at higher miles but make sure it has not been removed/modified - the tail pipe should be clean internally and at lower miles the dpf fluid will need topping up, check service history, MOT history on gov website, check the heating works, bodywork damage/rust, etc.

Re: Peugeot Partner Tepee
Well, I am now the owner of a 2012, Peugeot Partner Tepee Outdoor, 1.6 diesel. Immaculate condition with 83,000 and service history. No mods as far as I am aware. It's the non Ad-Blue version. I bought it from a dealer in the Midlands before Christmas, and am generally pleased with the performance, although it isn't as economic on fuel as my Golf. The drive is smooth although handling is a little soft (probably needs front suspension overhaul) and the 'feel' in the cab is rather plasticky. It definitely isn't as refined or as ergonomic as the VWs, but for the purposes of this micro camping adventure, it'll do. Along with the Berlingos, they seem to be a very popular choice for micro camping. We'll see how it goes!
