Hi Guys, fairly inexperienced when it comes to cars/vans, just wondered if anyone has had an issue with back lights not working in the winter months?
My break lights work, my fog lights work and my indicators work.
its just the back lights, it says running lights issue and my back lights turn off. (i then have to drive round with my fog lights on), google says it will be a faulty earth connection but I've no idea how to check this?
has anyone else experienced this problem?

before anyone says just take it to a garage, i have done and they also couldn't fix it.

If you put the hazard lights on and other rear lights on, do the other lights dim/brighten at the same time which would suggest a poor earth connection ? To find the earth point(s) you probably need to look in the boot area for a wire that is bolted to the bodywork. if you find it unbolt it and clean the metal of the body/connector. The rear tail lights often have separate fuses so you could also check these.

Presumably the bulbs have been replaced with decent ones, not old cheap things.

tried that, they dont dim or brighten im afraid. thats the issue we have had, were sturggling to ine the wire, im unusre which panel to take out to look for it. yes we have chnaged all bulbs
