Citroen dispatch video Lane departure will NOT switch on

Unread post by Mark 1972 »

Can anybody help please. I’m new to the forum
I have a 22plate Citroen dispatch and the Lane departure won’t stay on when I switch it on. It just goes off again with a second. I do have a video but unsure if I can post it on here?
Cheers in advance
Mark

So I switch this on and with a second or two it switches back off

Post your video on YouTube then link to it here, be sure to make it public though.

That was easier said than done. Never posted a video on there before. Haha

I think you need to hold the on switch for 5 seconds not just dab it.

Press and hold is a good suggestion, you do get some functions that are designed to prevent accidental switch on or off.

If its not that, some thoughts:

I don't think LDWS was compulsory back then, not really sure, but at one point it was only fitted to high trim spec models. Has yours ever worked, are you sure you have it?

Is there anything obvious stopping the sensor working - dirt/leaf stuck to screen/have you had a new windscreen or damage to fron grille recently - not sure where it is on the van, handbook might help you or pressing the i symbol beside the button may have a graphic.

Some systems only work above a certain speed - maybe 60kph/36 mph - or it would drive you crazy in car parks etc. Maybe you can only switch it on above that speed, hopefully it then stays switched on at each engine start. Try prodding your screen when you are driving along above 40 mph.

Hiya Richard, some good ideas there thanks. I know the van had reverse cam and sensors, folding mirrors, sat nav and few other gadgets back in 2022 when it was made so I’m guessing it should have the LDWS.
I will give it a go on the drive home later at speed.
The window sensor is clear but I am not sure where the sensor is on the grill? I will have a look for it in a moment?
No sure if it’s been coded out or had a new window at some stage as I have not long had it. Finger crossed for the drive home later.

Hi Gibbo2286
Thanks for the suggestion.
I did try that thanks but no luck. It just flicked back to off again as in the video.

It's worth getting it read with a decent diagnostic scanner. I haven't had this exact issue, but these non- essential functions failing may not give you warning light, but may still have a fault code stored which may point you in he right direction. I had this when my start/stop stopped working due to a failed brake vacuum pressure sensor. No warning light but had a code.

Hi All
Took it in to have new discs and pad on the back and also a wheel speed sensor done.
Prior to this work being done it was scanned and the only thing that was flagging up was the wheel speed sensor.
Any how……update
The lane departure now switches on and stays on BUT. I don’t think it works…. Tried it on motorways dual carriageways Normal roads and it does nothing.
Not used the indicators when trialing either.

Any advise on this gremlin would be appreciated.
Thanks
Mark
