What to look for on a used 2017 Boxer

Unread post by sneakyfox »

Hi! I have been trying out various used PSA vans lately and how now found a 2017 Boxer with the 2.0 130 PS euro6 engine which has done 100t km - it looks very promising.

I was wondering if anyone could help me with some tips on what to look out for when I test it. Of course I'm going to check if there is a log of regular services and look for rust etc. But are there specific things to this Boxer model and it's engine that I could look for to get a good idea of the state it is in?

If I decide it's a go then I would still take it to a mechanic for a thorough check first. But of course it would be nice to know as much as possible in advance.

Thanks a lot for any help!

I used to be indecisive, now I'm not so sure!
I used to ride on two wheels, but now I need all four!

Will likely have adblue system, try to find out if the tank has been replaced, if not its a ticking timebomb.

Not that the new tanks are any better but at least it would be newer.

Gearboxes are very weak, check for crunching between gear changes.

It does have adblue, seller says three years ago it was acting up, mechanic said it was just some crystallization of the liquid and fixed it by applying a chemical. No problems since, they said.

Gearbox seemed okay to me.

And I bought it too, so hope it's going to go well.
