It is not too bad a job as long as you have the tool to release the inner rod . Have a look at this video:
Good luck

I used to be indecisive, now I'm not so sure!
I used to ride on two wheels, but now I need all four!

If no tool, you can get away using a stillson wrench.

Re: 207 inner tie bar replacement
I have the tool in that video
car is in for its MOT tomorrow, while its up on the ramp I will have a look what the access is like, I think its the large end of the rubber boot that will cause me an issue if theres no space.

Re: 207 inner tie bar replacement
car passed its MOT with the tie bar as an advisory
they said theres only slight play in it, and it will last a few months yet, so it will be on my to do list for around april '26 when the weather starts to get better again, I have new track rod ends and bottom ball joints here as well so will do them all at the same time.

Hi,
If you are talking about the drop down link bar then i did mine with no problems? Its in the Haynes 207 manual. I did both at the same time, £30 each if i remember right, ebay uk.
Thanks,
Baz.

Re: 207 inner tie bar replacement
its taken a few months of constantly putting it off cos I thought it would be a pita to do, but got it dont today.
it was an advisory on its MOT which I last reported about
anyway I put it on ramps, was able to sneak into the gap to undo the jubilee clip on the inner rack gaiter
back off the ramps, jack up front wheel, removed track rod end, then the nut, then the gaiter, then used to tool to loosen the track bar, then installed new one same way but in reverse with a new track rod end.
all sorted, just a minor tweak to the tracking is needed.
