Bulb types.

Unread post by Huskyxantia »

So now the nights are creeping back in my little 207 has one bulb out . The heater panel right had side isnt lit . Here's a picture of the housing . Turns out I've only black cap not the white , anyone got any ideas to its part name or numbers.

Why not post up here your bulb and or any references to part numbers and bulb codes ...might help some of the older car owners of older cars .

Husky if you confirm your exact model, engine, gearbox and RPO number I'll see if I can find the info. :)

Looks like the same bulbs as fitted to all PSA cars dating back to at least my 1987 BX. Push fit bulbs with 2 wires exposed?
Pete
Notice the BX is still top the list but sadly gone

Mick, it's for the peugeot 207 2012, heater control panel, the bulb is fitted and is spot soldered in place so you can buy the buld so the wires goes through holes then out the back then over that shiny metal terminal then there Soldered on to them I think there b5 or something like that .

Yes I fully understand what they are Husky, the reason I asked those questions is to make sure I get the right car on the parts backup I have just in case there is a difference. Different trim levels may have different heater panels and possibly different lamps, unlikely I agree but you don't want a walk up the garden path!! The system asks for those details before I can progress through to the parts lists. :)

Sure thing mick, many times in the past I've had that way it's the right fit moment with certain bulbs only then to discover the little pins are one centered the other off centered. Ive sourced some on a well known site they are a little different as in led rather than bulb but the housing is the same, fiver for six was worth a punt , I will up date whe they arrive.

I thought that those bulbs were replaceable. I didn’t think that the complete unit had to be replaced.

My experience was that my ‘local’ Peugeot dealer was closed for the weekend but I needed some of those bulbs. There’s a car accessories shop across the road from the dealer and they were open, so I went and asked if they had anything to replace the bulb unit.

The young man found the correct replacement and I was about to purchase however many of them I needed. An older man came to the counter and saw what I was looking at. He said that he was certain that the bulbs were replaceable. I was surprised, but let him check the dead one. Sure enough, it came out fairly easily and he had replacement bulbs in stock. So I purchased the bulbs without the holders. And they have been fine. Even I couldn’t get it wrong.
Cheers,
Andrew

I thought mine was a swap out type but closer inspection the wire from the bulb is spot soldered to the terminals and where you need to solder is so tight id end up melting the housing
