Peugeot 208 2014 misfire 1.0

Unread post by obie1knobie »

Hi all , I have a misfire on cylinder number 1 , I swapped coils from 3 to 2 and 1 to 2 as I found out no 1 is at flywheel side , the fault didn’t transfer , so it’s either wiring , plug or engine computer , codes p2303 p0053 p0054 and p0420 , it’s also using engine oil , any wiring diagram for coil to ecu , is this a common problem, thanks

Unfortunately your car is a year too young for my access to diagrams but hopefully someone with live access will spot your post and help you out. :)
I used to be indecisive, now I'm not so sure!
I used to ride on two wheels, but now I need all four!

Next no cost thing will be to swap spark plugs and see what happens.

That's quite nice collection of codes you have there.

P2303 - Ignition Coil Primary Control Circuit Low.
P0053 - B1S1 O2 sensor heater signal
P0054 - B1S2 O2 sensor heater signal
P0420 - Catalyst below threshold

Did all of them popped up at the same time? If so, my guess would be damaged wiring (by some rodent for example). Unfortunetelly me too don't have access to newer cars diagrams. But I would just go by look. If some vermit chewed the wire, you would see it. Just follow it from the ignition coils and from lambda sensors.
ECUs in these cars are not prone to die unless they are somehow damaged.
Oil consumption is "normal" for these cars if you don't change oil yearly or 5000 miles. Unfortunatelly it will kill your catalyst converter prematurely.

EDIT: Also, check the sparkplugs. In these engines there have to be iridium spark plugs. Regular plugs causes misfire.

Hi all thanks for all the replys , the car drove fine for few days , eml lightwent out , i changed out the sparkplugs to iridium ngks ,scanned it again p1336 p2303 p2306 remain on , and later that day the car stopped up with rad fan running , then it restarted and drove on fine , i notice a cyliner imbalance reved at 1200rpm , i may do compression check to rule out physical , but as it has fault code , i think its electrical , this issue is common on a number of forums 208 related but has yet to be resolved , i am leaning towards a fault internally in the ecm aka ecu , has there been ecm issues , can it be replaced plug and play , or does it need a new or used unit reprogrammed , i see some companys are also repairing them its a valeo v46.11 9805895780
