Hi folks
Wonder if you can help shed some light on front tyres
Firstly put falkens on the front and found need to replace every year
So thought maybe soft tyres
So put some chinise on them and lasting 6 months
Is the nemo heavy on front tyres anyone think i travel to the moon

Re: Nemo Eating Front tyres
How many miles a year are you doing, are the tyres wearing evenly across the tread, do you accelerate and brake hard, what mileage did you get from tyres on previous vehicles ?

Re: Nemo Eating Front tyres
I sold a new Austin/Osborne milk float to a customer the original Dunlop 185-14 tyres needed replacing at just over 3,000 miles, my local tyre man suggested fitting Goodyear G800 195-14s, they were no better.
At the motor show I discussed it with the rep at the Michelin stand, he arranged for the a man to come out and weigh the vehicle.
The result was to fit a set of 165-14 Michelin X commercial tyres, they were on for 30,000 miles and still legal when the float was sold on.

You have to look at the play on the busses from the lower arms and ball joints.

Re: Nemo Eating Front tyres
If the wear is mostly on both the outside/inside edges then possibly the pressures are too low or if just one edge the tracking might be out. If getting the tracking checked a dealer/proper garage would be better than a tyre fitting place. Could also be going quickly round lots of roundabouts - do you go to Milton Keynes a lot ?
I have found cheap tyres do not last as long as dearer ones such as Michelin. Once I put India ones on the front driven wheels and only got 5000 miles by which time they were down to the canvas, on that car dearer ones would give about 15000 miles.

Re: Nemo Eating Front tyres
I quick check is to hold your fingers together and run your hand lightly over the shoulder/edge of the tyre in both directions. If in one direction it feels a bit like a saw blade (sort of catchy edge) then the tread blocks are a bit distorted so tracking may well be out, or you've been been thrashing it round tight bends/roundabouts, or a bit of both.
I wouldn't know what to expect from a Nemo, cars are strange: most that I have owned did 25k front, 50k rear or thereabouts but the Picasso did about 40k wearing evenly at both ends. I used Falkens Ziex on the SAAB and the C5 tourer and they didn't strike me as wearing out too quickly, but there are Falkens and there are Falkens. I see your Nemo is 2010, which might be the earlier and I think heavier 1.4 diesel engine so that might explain front tyre wear.
Another thing to look at is load rating: look for a number like 91 in the small print on the tyre. Bigger number = higher load rating. I think the SAAB wanted 95 or even 97. It might be that the tyres you bought are car rated not van rated, look online at some big suppilers (example: blackcircles.com do a huge range) see what they suggest for your car and look in real detail a those load ratings.
