Spent a good part of yesterday sorting out Sylv's Peugeot.
Did the mirascripts backup. Changed the microSD. Updated the firmware to 2.86 and restored from the mirascripts USB.
By pure chance, I feel, and with some help behind the scenes from Paul-R, I got the system back up and running bar the maps.
In the end, I got the maps on a USB and could see it when I plugged it into the car last night. Today, however, they are on the USB stick but I don't get the Insert Media pop-up?
I am wondering if the BSI disconnection and reconnection has something to do with it ie should I disconnect the battery again and reconnect?
I've tried all buttons on the RT6 and the list of map databases comes up with NOTHING in there where there was yesterday.
Also, I can see the file and folder structure when I plug USB into my Windows 10 PC but when I plug it into her Windows 11 PC, the USB simply won't appear!
I also ran the remove sys vol inf.bat to remove any Windows Sys Vol data to see if that helps but the maps are still not appearing in the car screen.
I managed to get the Cheat Code screen up. What's that about? If you have to enter the activation key from Peugeot in there within 30 seconds you have absolutely NO chance of doing it.
Thanks in advance.

What do you mean by cheat screen? Can you post a photo?
FWIW I do not believe that removing Windows Sys Vol is important. In all the years that I updated the maps on the X7 and 308 I NEVER deleted those files.

Will do. Just on the road at the moment (having a driving break of course).Paul-R wrote: 04 Oct 2025, 13:11 What do you mean by cheat screen? Can you post a photo?

I am trying to recall if I didn’t remove the Sys Vol info yesterday because the USB simply is not reading. It cannot be linked to BSI reset.
Did you ever need to do BSI reset beforehand when updating?
Also the CD I made didn’t work but I kept it as a live disk like USB. Maybe it needed burning.
Just thinking that the radio probably uses some Windows file system protocol once the firmware is up-to-date.

No, never.
The CD needs to be burned from an ISO so that it loads properly Just putting the files on won't work.Rhothgar wrote: 04 Oct 2025, 14:42Also the CD I made didn’t work but I kept it as a live disk like USB. Maybe it needed burning.
One of the volumes, maybe. On my 308 I think that the Windows readable volume was for the Jukebox. The other two most definitely weren't.Rhothgar wrote: 04 Oct 2025, 14:42Just thinking that the radio probably uses some Windows file system protocol once the firmware is up-to-date.

Makes sense.
I’ll try that when I get back. I guess the system must look for .iso in that case but USB doesn’t require it. I might read up on why that is.

Re: RT6 Maps - Now you see them! Now you don't!
Finally RESOLVED!
Basically, one thing that wasn't clear to me at any point was that the activation key needs to be entered for the USB stick to be read. Once the key is entered then the list of map databases magically appears so I must have entered the activation key last week when I could see the maps but in the meantime had cleanly forgot this point.
Hopefully, this will prove useful to anyone who might suffer the same struggles when it comes to reinstalling their legitimate maps on their RT6.
