Hi
When I had the car some 10 years ago ( C3 mk2 2015 1.6 HDi Blue 100) I had sensors fitted to the front by the supplying dealer to warn me if I got too close to anything.
This was not a factory fitted option , it had to be fitted by the supplying dealer on delivery.
There is a round push button switch stuck to the dash next to the other switches on the right hand side of the steering wheel, this push button has 2 wires from it ( flat fig 8 like bell flex) and has a light in it as well.
Ive suddenly noticed that its not on when I pull up to an object but will work when the button is pressed and after I drive away it will go off after a few mins, it switches on when the ignition is turned on or reverse is selected.
There are no instructions in the manual and nothing was supplied with the car.
It has previously worked and stayed on when the engine is started
It is not a lot of good as it is .
Any one know how to get instructions for it or know how it works, I suspect it has changed since the battery was disconnected for the air bag change.
It would appear to be not fed with an ignition on permanent live as it will turn off after moving and when going into reverse.
Any help would be appreciated - I can not approach Citroen directly at present due to legal proceedings over the Air Bag fiasco.
Thanks in advance
Pete

Re: C3 front proximity detectors
Are the legal proceedings against the dealer who did the airbag work or Citroen themselves?
I used to be indecisive, now I'm not so sure!
I used to ride on two wheels, but now I need all four!

OK, you have PM'd the answer so then I would suggest you go back to the dealer who did the work and tell them the sensors have not worked correctly since they did the airbag and have they left something unplugged? I had exactly that situation when my Subaru was recalled and after the work the central console lights didn't function, I went back to the dealer and they confirmed they'd missed a plug on refitting my dash, they sorted it and apologised for my inconvenience!

Re: C3 front proximity detectors
Hi
Mine was done on my drive by FormelD.
There are lights in the foot wells gentle orange ones, the passenger one did not work after but that was only a blown bulb which I replaced.
Im inclined to think as it does work that its not disonected any where Im inclined to think they used a diagnostic tool to reset after changing the air bags, I say this because there is an extra symbol on the dash showing a steering wheel /air bag that was not there before.
This may have screwed it up.
Ill write to Formel D and ask if they did anything with the diagnostic port.
Ill also have to look and see where the control box for the front sensors in case it is behind the glove box which was removed.
