Hi, just purchased a DS3 that only came with one key. Photo attached.
I would like to get a replacement but one with a fob to allow remote unlocking. A quick look online suggest timpsons can do this.
Is this possible on the basis I currently don't have a fob. Do they code the key then I have to initialise it in the car, IE key in ignition, hold lock (or whatever the process is)
Thanks

Yes, it's exactly that.soundcheck86 wrote: 22 Sep 2025, 14:13Is this possible on the basis I currently don't have a fob. Do they code the key then I have to initialise it in the car, IE key in ignition, hold lock (or whatever the process is).

Thank you. Are Timspons usually okay for this? Or better to avoid?Paul-R wrote: 22 Sep 2025, 14:23Yes, it's exactly that.soundcheck86 wrote: 22 Sep 2025, 14:13Is this possible on the basis I currently don't have a fob. Most places that sell shoe repairs also do replacement keys and may be cheaper. No experience with Timpsons but I don't think there would a problem with them.

Timpsons expensive, doing it yourself if you have access to diagbox is quite easy, key with fob( and electrics )cheap on ebay and local locksmith shop to cut the blank ,cost me about 18 quid in total ,but I have diagbox ,local citroen will give key code on production of V5 logbook for free.

Not every dealer by any means. Mine cost me £30 some six years ago.vincentfishing wrote: 22 Sep 2025, 17:27... local Citroen will give key code on production of V5 logbook for free.
Some diagnostic machines (but not Diagbox) can interrogate the system and extract the key code anyway. My Xtool D8W can, for instance.
