Spooky, I bought 2 sets of these only 2 weeks ago to fit on patio flower boxes:

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/396380450818 ... 5021786552

As you can see you get two braked and two free running in each set of four, or at least you are supposed to. When I took delivery and opened them I found I had eight braked wheels, I'm not complaining !! :-D This is the result:

I used to be indecisive, now I'm not so sure!
I used to ride on two wheels, but now I need all four!

I finished off the flower boxes with back screens which will end up with climbers growing up them to provide a mobile natural screen with decorative front! :-D

Waiting for filling and planting, a bit top heavy at the moment, hence the makeshift weights!!

That's a very good idea and saves the back too

Neat those Mick :) definitely not blow away with all four wheels locked!
Are you lining the planter base with anything - keep the moisture off the soil?
Damp proof course plastic is my "go to" for that sort of thing, cut with scissors/Stanley but fairly tough otherwise.

Already done with plastic sheet complete with drainage spouts through the floor to stop the wood getting wet anywhere other than rain :-D

Damp proof: Gosh that stuff seems to have shot up in price! I'm sure the last roll of it (can't remember, think it's 300 mm wide) I'm sure it was £3-£4

Pretty wheels put into service
Pretty wheels put into service
Decided to stick them on now - will soon unbolt again when it gets chance to prep and paint the underside.

A "NVR" is next on the shopping list (a No Volt Release switch - if power is lost machine will not restart when power returns, also likely an emergency stop as part of the same unit)

Currently the lathe is on a simple switch (worse still a Metalclad type with a missing faceplate! Ideal for swarf to collect in  )

Mostly house jobs (insulated plasterboard and fiddly bits around the window reveals, plus a bit of angle grinding for a new double socket location) so not much to report.

Hoovered out the grey 308 SW which has had bits of plaster board for a couple of weeks (weather not fit last weekend) I've also "clayed" the front and back screens on it and the blue 308 SW - you can hear the wiper blades running over roughness on the glass surfaces and I recall how the clay bar lifts such stuff. Will report if made a meaningful improvement next trip in the rain. Likely not long to wait there!

Thinking about the relatively poor headlight output of the grey 308 I saw these and was intrigued:

Fine for MOT apparently.

However Google suggests they are just as illegal for road use as they've always been!

I'd guess it comes down to whether they're 'E' marked or not, and whether you trust their 'E' mark as well :? I believe some LED headlamp bulbs have got valid 'E' marks, so you might be ok..... and to be honest, I don't think anyone bothers about whether headlamps dazzle these days

Mot Manual:

Existing halogen headlamp units on vehicles first used on or after 1 April 1986 must not be converted to be used with high intensity discharge (HID) or light emitting diode (LED) bulbs. If such a conversion has been done, you must fail the headlamp for light source and lamp not compatible.

Be pretty unlikely to be stopped between MOTs if the beam pattern is OK, if you know what I mean!
