Fuel line
Morning, I have a C3 Picasso 120Vti, and I am about to replace the fuel pump. According to the specs, the pump has a pressure of around 3.5 bar. Is that enough to push the fuel to the injectors, or is there a high pressure fuel pump that delivers the fuel to the injectors? The car runs and idles fine on low throttle input, but as soon as I press on the accelerator harder, and the revs starts climbing, it starts to splutter. Coming down and cruising at 100km/h with little input, it runs fine.

Re: Fuel line
Are you referring to the pump in the tank?
I used to be indecisive, now I'm not so sure!

Re: Fuel line
A search suggests there is a pump in the tank and also a high pressure pump that gives 3.5 bar. What makes you think you have a pump problem, have you done any diagnostic checks ?

Re: Fuel line
How many miles has the vehicle done? Does it have a fuel filter and, if it does, when was it last changed?

Yes, but the pump in the tank is supposedly giving 3.5 bar. Diagnostic clear, but it feels like fuel starvation on higher revs. The local Citroen garage seems to think there's no other pump closer to the engine that ups the pressure.PaulC5 wrote: 22 Sep 2025, 13:58 A search suggests there is a pump in the tank and also a high pressure pump that gives 3.5 bar. Re: Fuel line
For the cost of a filter, personally I’d change it for a decent branded one like Bosch for example. Symptoms do sound fuelling related and eliminating the filter as the cause would be sensible.
Occasionally, I actually understand what I’m doing, however, now is not one of those times!

Seems like the only filter is the one that is attached to the pump, no other filter mentioned from the dealership.Pete_D60 wrote: 23 Sep 2025, 12:40 For the cost of a filter, personally I’d change it for a decent branded one like Bosch for example.
